Say hello to Kyrie

Our floating home is Kyrie, a Prout Snowgoose, built in England in 1983.  With her first owner she nearly circumnavigated, and was completely rebuilt by her second owner.  We hope to take her 'round the second time.

Kyrie's Basic Statistics:

LOA:  37'
Beam:  15' - 6"
Air Draft: 45'
Water Tankage: 80 Gallons
Fuel Tankage:  35 Gallons

Power:  Single, center-mounted Yanmar 3GM30 with Silette Drive (burns about 1/2 gallon per hour at 6 knots)

Dinghy:  12' Porta-Bote with Yamaha F6 outboard

Solar: 750 watts installed with Victron MPPT controllers

Here's a good article written about the Prout Snowgoose 37 for those of you that are curious.

  1. Hey guys! We are a family of 5 (3 boys ages 9,13,& 15) also getting ready to head to Mexico in August. We are on SV Distant Star, a 42' Fraser. Its been a 5 year plan and it feels like its right around the corner now. We are packing up the homestead here on Cortes Island, BC while trying to tick all the 'To Do's' off the long, long list. But exciting to hear of you guys, and another family in Victoria area too....a convoy of 3 family boats...10 kids?...heading to Mexico this fall. Awesome!

    1. Hi! I'm so glad Stephanie pointed you in our direction. My son is tickled to hear about all your boys. Sounds like you're in the middle of doing the exact same thing we are. We're packing up our house and getting it ready to go on the market so we can officially leave. Let's keep in touch so we can find your family when we get down to your neck of the woods!
